Jamie Hayter issued a challenge for the AEW Women’s World Championship on Thursday’s Collision, and the match against champion Thekla was made official shortly after — adding a title bout with significant personal backstory to the April 12 card at Rogers Arena in Vancouver.
The history between the two runs deep. Thekla made her AEW debut by attacking Hayter in May 2025, immediately establishing a rivalry that has been building toward this moment. Hayter previously defeated Thekla at WrestleDream 2025 — a significant result as it was the first singles loss of Thekla’s AEW career. The championship rematch gives both women a major platform to settle unfinished business.
AEW Dynasty Zero Hour Pre-Show Also Adds Alex Windsor vs. Marina Shafir
The Dynasty card continues to fill out beyond the Hayter-Thekla championship match. Alex Windsor will face Marina Shafir during the Zero Hour pre-show, adding another women’s division bout to what is shaping up as a strong night for the division. The full updated Dynasty card now features MJF defending the AEW World Championship against Kenny Omega, FTR defending the tag titles against Adam Copeland and Christian Cage, Jon Moxley vs. Will Ospreay, Darby Allin vs. Andrade El Idolo, and Thekla defending the Women’s title against Hayter.
