Mercedes Mone is officially without a championship for the first time in well over a year. The AEW star confirmed in her Mone Mag publication that she was forced to vacate the APAC Women’s Championship after the Malaysian promotion was unable to fly her out to defend the title and refused to work with other promotions to find a solution.
“While I was in London, I had to make a tough call. I sent the Malaysia Championship back. My team and I really tried to make things work — we put in the effort, had the conversations, and explored every option. But at the end of the day, they told us they didn’t have the budget to fly me out and weren’t open to working with other promotions,” Mone wrote. “For me? That just didn’t align with the vision. So I made the decision to vacate the title.”
Mercedes Mone Once Held Thirteen Championships Simultaneously Before Her Title Losses Began
The only remaining title in Mone’s collection — the Owen Hart Foundation tournament championship — is only defended annually, leaving her effectively without any active championship to her name. At her peak, Mone held thirteen titles simultaneously including the AEW TBS Championship, the CMLL Women’s Championship, the ROH Women’s Television Championship, and the RevPro Undisputed Women’s Championship. Her decline began at the end of 2025 when Willow Nightingale defeated her for the TBS title on the final AEW Dynamite of the year. After taking a break from AEW television, Mone resurfaced in March and proceeded to drop the remainder of her international titles, most recently losing the Winnipeg Pro Wrestling Women’s Championship to Jody Threat.
