Chris Jericho made his first proper speaking appearance back in AEW on Wednesday’s Dynamite following his surprise April 1 return, and he wasted no time making his mark — signing a new contract in the ring and immediately announcing a WrestleMania weekend match against Ricochet at AEW Dynasty.
Jericho teased signing his new deal in the ring while reflecting on his career and his willingness to take risks, admitting he has had some misses along the way. Before he could put pen to paper, Ricochet and The Demand interrupted. Ricochet advised Jericho against signing, bragging about his own rise and the promotion’s success. Jericho’s response was characteristically blunt — he doesn’t give a damn what Ricochet thinks — before signing the contract and revealing it contains a clause allowing him to pick his Dynasty opponent. He promptly named Ricochet, then put him on the list to close the segment.

The match adds a significant singles bout to the Dynasty card, which already features MJF defending the AEW World Championship against Kenny Omega, FTR defending the tag titles against Adam Copeland and Christian Cage, Jon Moxley vs. Will Ospreay, Darby Allin vs. Andrade El Idolo, Thekla defending the Women’s title against Jamie Hayter, and Konosuke Takeshita and Kazuchika Okada vs. The Young Bucks. Dynasty takes place April 12 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia.
