Kevin Knight is the new AEW TNT Champion. Knight won the Casino Gauntlet match at AEW Dynasty in Vancouver, pinning Daniel Garcia to capture the vacant title in one of the night’s most dramatic moments. The finish saw Garcia have the Sharpshooter locked in on Mike Bailey when Knight seized the opportunity, landing the UFO splash and pinning Garcia for the three-count to claim the championship.
The TNT Championship had been vacated following Kyle Fletcher’s lower leg injury, which ended his 56-day reign that included three successful title defenses. The Casino Gauntlet provided a field of ten competitors the chance to fill the vacancy, with the order of entry as follows — Tommaso Ciampa entered first, followed by RUSH, Bandido, Speedball Mike Bailey, El Clon, PAC, Daniel Garcia, Anthony Bowens, Kevin Knight at number nine, and Wheeler Yuta at number ten.
Kevin Knight’s AEW TNT Title Win Comes as He Simultaneously Holds the ROH Television Championship
This marks the first AEW TNT Championship reign for Knight, who has been one of AEW‘s most consistently impressive performers since arriving in the company. Knight also currently holds the ROH Television Championship, making the Dynasty victory a significant moment in what has been a remarkable rise for the young star. His ability to read the moment inside the Gauntlet — waiting for the precise opportunity with Garcia and Bailey fully engaged before swooping in — demonstrated the ring intelligence that has made him one of the most talked-about emerging talents in professional wrestling.
