The Dogs are the new AEW World Trios Champions. David Finlay, Gabe Kidd, and Clark Connors defeated JetSpeed — Kevin Knight and Mike Bailey — and Mistico in the opening match of the April 11 Collision taping to claim the gold, ending JetSpeed and Mistico’s 24-day championship reign ahead of Dynasty weekend.
The finish saw Finlay hold Bailey for a vertical suplex while Connors delivered a spear from the middle rope, with Kidd following up and pinning Bailey for the three-count. The victory marks the first Trios Championship reign for all three members of The Dogs, who have been one of AEW‘s most consistently booked factions in recent months.
The Conglomeration Immediately Challenged The Dogs for the Trios Titles With a Mystery Partner Teased for Dynasty
The title change was immediately followed by Roderick Strong and Orange Cassidy issuing a championship challenge — but being one partner short of a complete team. A mystery partner was teased for the Dynasty match, with the circumstances pointing toward Kyle O’Reilly completing the trio given his recent hints about returning to action in Vancouver for the pay-per-view. JetSpeed and Mistico had previously won the Trios Championships at AEW Revolution and made two successful defenses, including one in CMLL, before their reign ended on the Collision taping.
