Gabe Kidd suffered a dislocated shoulder during the AEW World Trios Championship match at Dynasty on Sunday, and Tony Khan confirmed at the post-show media scrum that Kidd is “out indefinitely” while his shoulder is being evaluated. Kidd was escorted to the back by medical personnel during the course of the match, visibly favoring his wrist or shoulder as the bout continued without him.
Bryan Alvarez reported that the injury appeared to be a dislocated shoulder and confirmed that the planned finish — Kyle O’Reilly submitting Clark Connors to give The Conglomeration the title win — was always the intended outcome and was not changed as a result of Kidd’s injury. The match continued with The Dogs down one member, and O’Reilly completed the victory by locking in the ankle lock on Connors for the submission.
The Dogs Had Only Just Won the AEW World Trios Championships on Collision Before Losing Them at Dynasty
The timing of the injury is particularly unfortunate given how recently The Dogs had captured the championships. Finlay, Kidd, and Connors won the Trios titles from JetSpeed and Mistico on the April 11 Collision taping — just days before Dynasty — making their reign one of the shortest in the title’s history. Kidd’s extended absence will now shape how AEW approaches The Dogs as a faction going forward, with one of their most prominent members sidelined for an unknown period following what was clearly a painful and serious injury sustained on one of the promotion’s biggest nights of the spring.
