Tony Khan Says He Will Only Trust His Own Instincts Going Forward After Past Creative Struggles

Tony Khan has drawn a clear line in the sand about how AEW‘s creative process will be managed going forward — and it centers entirely on trusting his own judgment rather than involving too many voices in the decision-making process. Speaking with KING 5 News, Khan offered a brief but revealing insight into the lessons he has taken from the challenges AEW’s creative faced in the latter part of 2025.

“From now on, I will only trust my instincts. I will only execute the ideas that I believe in,” Khan said. The comment builds on his late 2025 public acknowledgment that he had been involving too many people in AEW‘s creative process — a rare moment of self-reflection from a promoter who has generally kept his internal workings private. The Dynasty pay-per-view, which he described at the post-show media scrum as having featured the most last-minute card changes of any show since the original Forbidden Door, appears to have reinforced his conviction that a more centralized creative approach is the right direction for the company heading into the spring and summer season.
