Kota Ibushi has provided his most encouraging update yet since suffering a fractured femur during an AEW Collision taping in October, posting footage of squats, stair runs, and general movement drills on Instagram approximately two months after his second surgery. In the caption, Ibushi sent a direct message to his friends and former partners while asking fans for their continued patience.
“Hello. It’s been about two months since my second surgery. I will definitely be back, so please wait for me. Sending these feelings to Kenny, Bucks, and Tony Khan!! To my dear friends,” Ibushi wrote. The injury originally occurred when Ibushi fell from the turnbuckle to the floor during a spot involving Josh Alexander, fracturing his femur and requiring immediate medical intervention. In February, he disclosed that a surgical screw had loosened, necessitating a second operation that further extended his recovery timeline. Earlier evaluations had suggested a potential recovery period of almost two years, though Ibushi had previously stated in January his intention to return in 2026. His latest post showing active physical training is the most concrete visual evidence yet that his recovery is progressing toward that goal.
