Trick Williams appeared on ESPN SportsCenter after WrestleMania 42 Night Two with the United States Championship around his waist and a clear vision for what his reign is going to look like. Speaking alongside The Miz and co-hosts, Williams reflected on his rapid connection with WWE audiences while also drawing a clear distinction between his approach to the championship and those of his predecessors.
“You never know how the people are really going to read you. You can’t plan this. I came in with the mindset — I’m going to prove myself, I’m going to work hard, I’m going to keep my mouth shut and do my talking inside the ring. And that’s why I thank God every single day. I call myself the Anointed One for a reason because he wanted me to be here. So I’m gonna be right here,” Williams said. When the conversation turned to open challenge defenses, Williams made his position equally clear. “I’m a superstar and I wear that very seriously. When the people see Trick Williams, he’s going to be in a main event. It’s going to be a show when I defend this title.”
