Joe Hendry is officially a member of the WWE Raw roster — and he is celebrating his call-up the only way Joe Hendry knows how. Michael Cole confirmed the news during the Raw after WrestleMania 42, announcing that Hendry would be part of the Raw roster, with Corey Graves responding to the announcement with theatrical disgust. Next week’s Raw in Laredo, Texas will feature a live Hendry concert to mark the occasion.
Hendry had been rumored for a main roster call-up as far back as January when SmackDown expanded to three hours, but remained in NXT instead — winning the NXT Championship and holding it for 60 days before losing it to Tony D’Angelo in the four-way at Stand & Deliver. He competed in last Friday’s Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on SmackDown, which was won by Royce Keys. Next week’s Raw in Laredo, Texas also features the return of new Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch, plus appearances from Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu.
