Billy Gunn has competed alongside legends, held tag team gold, and built a career spanning over three decades in professional wrestling — and when asked to identify the greatest highlight of it all, his answer had nothing to do with championships or WrestleMania moments. Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Gunn did not hesitate.
“Working with my kids. Above anything, and above all, is being able to work with my kids. I get all weird when I talk because it was so good, and it was so — I can’t explain it. You’re a parent, right? Every time they do something, it’s like, that’s the most amazing thing. My kids were awesome. Then, when Austin did it, it was one thing, and then Colton doing it, and then being able to be in the ring and work next to them while I yell at them when they’re working, and them going, ‘Dad, stop it!’ There’s nothing that tops that. There really isn’t. I wish there was, but it ain’t getting better than that,” Gunn said. He also named Eddie Guerrero, The Headshrinkers, and Ron and Don Harris among the most significant performers he has worked with — crediting The Headshrinkers in particular for teaching him the fundamentals of professional wrestling during his formative years in the business.
