A potential return of Aleister Black to All Elite Wrestling is being met with resistance internally, according to a report from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio. Meltzer indicated that people he spoke with at AEW were largely negative about the idea, though he did not speak directly with Tony Khan. Reaction to a possible Andrade return was described as more mixed.
AEW Extras Coordinator Shawn Dean publicly opposed a House of Black reunion, responding with a flat “No” to a Threads post raising the possibility.
Black was part of AEW from summer 2021 until his contract expired in February 2025. He debuted in a feud with Cody Rhodes before forming House of Black with Buddy Matthews and Brody King. During his run, he reportedly drew criticism from colleagues who felt he was reluctant to lose matches and frequently cited injuries. His relationship with Tony Khan was also said to be strained.
After leaving AEW, Black returned to WWE on the SmackDown episode following WrestleMania 41. He was among the 25 wrestlers released on April 24, alongside his wife Zelina Vega.
