British independent star Will Kroos has earned a notable supporter just hours into his WWE run. On the April 28 edition of NXT, the 29-year-old made his surprise debut by hitting a moonsault on NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo, who had already been confronted by EVIL and suplexed by Tavion Heights in the same segment.
Soon after, 17-time world champion John Cena reacted on social media by quoting the popular British independent chant associated with Kroos.
“HE’S BIG…. HE’LL BAD…. HE’LL BODYSLAM YOUR DAD!!!”
According to Bodyslam, only a small group of people knew Kroos was making his debut that night, including NXT management, producers, and the talent involved in the segment. Kroos was a relative unknown to the North American audience, with NXT commentator Vic Joseph even questioning on air whether a fan had jumped into the ring to attack D’Angelo.
Kroos took part in a WWE tryout ahead of SummerSlam 2025, alongside others who eventually signed including Lizzy Rain and Zoe Hines, the niece of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. He wrapped up his run on the UK independent scene in late March and early April, facing tag team partner Rampage Brown in NORTH Wrestling and falling short against Jay Joshua for the RevPro Undisputed British Heavyweight Championship at Epic Encounter 2026.
Before WWE, Kroos competed throughout the British and international scenes, with appearances for Pro Wrestling NOAH, Revolution Pro Wrestling, and PROGRESS Wrestling, where he held the Atlas Championship.
