AJ Styles has ruled out ever wrestling Kenny Omega, on his Phenomenally Retro Podcast.
“I would have liked to have had a match with him anywhere, but it didn’t happen. I got too old and we went different places. It is what it is, it just wasn’t meant to be,” Styles said. He left no ambiguity: “It’s never going to happen. Just throwing that out there, it’s never going to happen. Never going to happen.”
Styles and Omega shared history in NJPW as Bullet Club members but only faced each other once in singles competition, in 2006. They last shared a ring together in January 2016 at NJPW New Year Dash, where they teamed up as partners. Styles retired at the 2026 Royal Rumble and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame at WrestleMania 42 weekend.
