AJ Styles reacted to Will Ospreay hitting the Styles Clash on Samoa Joe during their Owen Hart quarterfinal at AEW Double or Nothing, calling the execution flawless.
“He pulled it off flawlessly,” Styles said.
It was the first time Joe had taken the Styles Clash since 2019. Ospreay hit the move as a deliberate tribute — at the DoN media scrum, he explained that the TNA match between Styles, Joe, and Christopher Daniels was what made him want to become a professional wrestler, and that facing Joe at Double or Nothing completed a trifecta for him after already having matches with both Styles and Daniels.
Styles, who has previously said Ospreay is welcome to use any of his moves any time, has been vocal about wanting Ospreay in WWE eventually. “Will’s the man. I would love to have him in WWE,” Styles said on a recent podcast.
