AJ Styles used his Phenomenally Retro Podcast to make a direct case for WWE to push Chad Gable to the top of the card following his mask vs. mask loss to Ludwig Kaiser at AAA Noche de Los Grandes.
“He’s a bigger superstar than he’s ever been at this very moment. And if we don’t capitalize — and I say we because I’m a part of WWE — we’re dumb. We’re dummies,” Styles said. “He can be heavyweight champion. He’s a legit freaking pro wrestler.”
Gable returned to SmackDown this past Friday and apologized to Rey Fenix over his actions as El Grande Americano. Fenix accepted but told Gable he isn’t the only luchador he owes an apology to.
