Eric Bischoff publicly backed Road Dogg to take over TNA’s creative role on his 83 Weeks podcast, arguing his television network experience gives him a significant advantage over Tommy Dreamer.
“In a place like TNA, quite frankly, I think he’d be a huge leap forward from a Tommy Dreamer, who doesn’t really have any television experience,” Bischoff said. “Has he ever sat in a room with television executives to understand their goals, their needs, the way they have to operate and then tailor your creative to those needs? Probably not. And that’s the advantage that a Road Dogg would have — he’s had a broader base of television experience at very high levels with very well established networks.”
Bischoff also addressed the reported friction between Road Dogg and Vince McMahon during his WWE tenure. “The chemistry between he and Vince, from what I’ve read, just was such that it didn’t work out.”
Per Dave Meltzer, TNA and Road Dogg have been in talks for several weeks.
