Tony Khan said he takes WWE’s decision to counter-program AEW All In on August 30 as a compliment, speaking at the post-Forbidden Door media scrum.
Dave Meltzer noted that WWE had announced a AAA show and NXT Heatwave would both run on the same day as AEW All In at Wembley Stadium. Khan’s response referenced the history of Jim Crockett Promotions, which WCW’s predecessor used to directly counter-program WWE. “It’s double the compliment Jimmy Crockett got. That’s good, twice as nice as they were to Jimmy. That’s great. I’ll be sure to take it that way. I think we’re going to have a great AEW All In and really looking forward to going back to Wembley Stadium. It’s going to be the biggest night in AEW wrestling.”
All In takes place August 30 at Wembley Stadium in London. MJF vs. Will Ospreay for the AEW Championship and Thekla vs. Mercedes Moné for the AEW Women’s Championship are already confirmed.
