AJ Styles’ son Avery Jones made his professional wrestling debut on June 26 at a Squared Circle Action event in Royston, Georgia, and has already filed to trademark an in-ring name. The application for “Avery Styles” was filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on June 29 and is awaiting assignment to an examining attorney, covering merchandise such as shirts, sweatshirts, hats, and socks, as well as professional wrestling performances and appearances.
Avery defeated Ashton Martin in the show’s main event, finishing the match with a Styles Clash — his father’s signature move. AJ Styles was in his son’s corner and counted the pinfall.
Styles praised the performance on his Phenomenally Retro podcast. “I’ve never been so impressed with two young guys. They used it really well. They didn’t rush through anything. This is a debut match for Avery, and Ashton hadn’t had that many matches. So to see them do so well in a main event, both of them, I was blown away.” He added that Avery’s execution on a springboard guardrail spot was “better than me, as far as his debut. I’m not just saying that.”
Avery is the second-oldest of Styles’ three sons. AJ Styles retired from in-ring competition at the 2026 Royal Rumble and now works for WWE in a scouting and recruiting role.
