WWE internally expects CM Punk to return to television on the July 6 episode of Raw at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, per WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select. A source at the Allstate Arena confirmed Punk is still being heavily advertised for the show with no changes to his promotional status.
The July 6 Raw also features Sami Zayn defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes in a scheduled main event, making it one of the most anticipated episodes in recent memory.
Punk has been absent since the April 20 Raw following WrestleMania 42. He is expected to move to the SmackDown brand upon his return, with a program against Rhodes — originally planned as the SummerSlam main event per Dave Meltzer — the long-term direction.
