On the latest episode of My World, with Chris Harris as his guest, Jeff Jarrett reflected on Harris’s short-lived WWE run — where he was repackaged as Braden Walker — arguing it came down to the brutal pace and politics of the machine rather than any lack of talent. “His WWE run — I used to tell Abyss this often, because we were all close, buddies and OGs coming up in there. The thing most people don’t understand is that the machine moves at a breakneck pace, and it will consume you, it’ll eat you up and spit you out. You may think the grass is greener, but it’s a different kind of animal. So when it didn’t work out, I’m not shocked. It doesn’t always work out for everybody, and it had nothing to do with his babyface ability, his heel ability, or his in-ring ability — nothing. It was just timing and politics. Did he rub somebody the wrong way? Did he say something to a producer? All of that matters coming in the door. When I think back, me coming in the door, I had Scott Hall, I knew Taker from Tennessee, I knew several folks who helped guide me. Fuji took me aside in the early days, Yokozuna said come on, jump in the car with me — just little bitty things. It’s politically how you navigate, because you’re on the road so much, you’re together all the time. I knew it didn’t work out business-wise, so the best thing I could do was tell him, hey, Chris, go create some leverage for yourself. It’ll be the best for everyone involved.”
