AEW Dynamite Beach Break aired live from the BayCare Sound outdoor venue in Clearwater, Florida on Wednesday. Three championships changed hands — two titles and a number one contendership.
Kenny Omega def. MJF — AEW World Championship (24:06)
Kenny Omega won the AEW World Championship for the second time, defeating MJF in the main event. MJF attempted to use the Dynamite Diamond Ring late in the match, but Will Ospreay sprinted from the entrance and pulled it off his finger. With Omega poised to use the championship belt as a weapon, he reconsidered and dropped it. MJF hit a low blow and belt shot — Omega kicked out at one. Omega then landed three V-Triggers and the One-Winged Angel for the pin. A graphic immediately confirmed Kenny Omega vs. Will Ospreay for the AEW World Championship at All In at Wembley Stadium in August. MJF had spat in Ospreay’s face in a backstage segment earlier in the evening.
Kyle Fletcher def. Konosuke Takeshita — AEW International Championship (16:47)
Kyle Fletcher won the AEW International Championship from Takeshita with assistance from the Don Callis Family, returning gold to the faction. Mick Foley was interviewing Fletcher post-match when Andrade El Idolo appeared to challenge him, but was lured away by a trap laid by the Callis Family. Kevin Knight appeared and reminded everyone he is owed a world title shot. Andrade vs. Jake Doyle is set for next week — if Andrade wins, he earns a National title match against Mark Davis.
Willow Nightingale wins Women’s Casino Gauntlet (18:24)
Willow Nightingale returned from a shoulder injury to win the Casino Gauntlet match, last eliminating to become the number one contender for Thekla’s AEW Women’s World Championship at Redemption on July 26 in Montreal. The field included Athena, Maya World, Skye Blue, Mina Shirakawa, Rina, Julia Hart, and Thunder Rosa. After the match, Mercedes Moné and Divine Dominion attacked Willow and the Triangle of Madness.
Tommaso Ciampa def. Chris Jericho
Ciampa used a bucket of sand to win. Post-match, Ciampa attacked Jericho with a steel chair. Security prevented Ciampa from using a power drill on Jericho.
