On the latest episode of My World, Jeff Jarrett explained why WCW Nitro’s live format captivated him, and how it contrasted with his early frustration over the lack of live television in WWF. You can check out his comments below:
“When Nitro was rolling, that obviously attracted me — that’s kind of where the excitement, the buzz, and the live nature of it came in. At WWF in ’93, yes, you did pay-per-views live, but TV overall, there was only one out of three or one out of four live episodes. I was born and raised on that live feel, so that was kind of a disappointment when I first went to WWF. There wasn’t a lot of live content, and I used to be kind of disappointed when enhancement matches would be going on. The enhancement guys maybe weren’t very polished at times, and you’d go out, and the guy wouldn’t take the finish right, or Vince didn’t like something, and guys would come to the curtain saying, don’t go get dressed, we’re doing that again in 10 minutes — go have the same match in front of the same people. The business has changed so much. That live component of Nitro excited me. Nitro had a big buzz to me before the turn, and then this took it to another level.”
