# Jeff Jarrett Says The Wrestling Business Has Fundamentally Changed: ‘You’ve Got To Keep Your Product Hot’
On the latest episode of My World, Jeff Jarrett offered a big-picture take on how the economics of wrestling have shifted in the TKO era, and the danger that comes when a product cools off. You can check out his comments below:
“This is a new game, it’s changed. TKO — UFC reflects on WWE, and WWE reflects on UFC, from the back-end business side. It’s a completely different era. The short game has changed, because you can sign a Netflix deal, you can sign an ESPN deal, you can charge a premium for everything — because your product’s hot. If your product cools, okay, you’re all right. But if it gets cold, that value is down, and the advertisers not only won’t pay that premium, they kind of quit knocking, and they go to another sport, or another entertainment, or a movie that’s gotten hot. So the balance of keeping your product hot comes into play. When does it come into play, and how? That’s where you’re looking, real time, at the yin and the yang of it. AEW delivers, let’s say, 13 matches, nine on pay-per-view and four on the zero hour. WWE delivers four to six. The long play here is: do they care? Yeah, they care, but not more than they care about the 90-day stock return. The game has changed. The long-term play is you’ve got to keep your business hot.”
