Jeff Jarrett On Whether Dark Side Of The Ring Gave Him TNA Closure: ‘Time Will Tell’

On the latest episode of his My World podcast, recorded live, Jeff Jarrett reflected on the emotional aftermath of Dark Side of the Ring’s TNA episodes, and whether revisiting that chapter of his career on camera has given him any closure. You can check out his comments below:

Asked if the experience closed the book on the TNA chapter of his life:

“Time will tell. There’s no doubt. There was a lot of emotional bandwidth that came with all of it. It was one thing for myself or Karen to sit down — we knew what we were signing up for, so I’m not complaining — but then it airs, and it’s the first time you’re around this group of folks. I just left the gym, I landed, got home, and I saw a guy in there I hadn’t seen since the doc came out. So it’s still there.”

“I got a chance to talk to a lot of production folks last night, and people have different comments. Almost to the man, they were like, hey, all due respect, I know that’s your life, so we respect your transparency and vulnerability. So life goes on. But I still say it, like I said every week on here — I feel incredibly grateful, A, that I’m alive and got to tell the story, and B, that Bischoff and Dark Side and Evan chose to tell it.”

Jarrett said the producers had originally envisioned a much larger project, and lamented how much material didn’t make the final cut:

“The original concept of the Dark Side production was to do six sides of TNA, a six-episode arc, and then maybe do a completely different episode on Jeff Jarrett. But the network is the final decision maker, and they came together and got two hours, and got a third hour. The stuff that was left on the cutting room floor — when you’re weaving the story of TNA, the X Division and the Ultimate X match, that gets a lot of the headlines. The six-sided ring gets headlines, and they touched on that. But I loved how, in episode three, they wrapped it up and showed where I’m at today, and Tony Khan and working for AEW.”
