Bobby Steveson, who wrestled in WWE NXT as Damon Kemp, said he was struck by lightning on Friday and posted a photo of himself in a hospital bed.
“Survived my first and hopefully last lightning strike,” Steveson wrote.
He did not say where the strike happened or describe the extent of his injuries.
Steveson, an amateur wrestling standout, signed with WWE in 2021 and worked in NXT as Damon Kemp. He was part of Diamond Mine with the Creed Brothers before joining the No Quarter Catch Crew alongside Charlie Dempsey, Tavion Heights, and Myles Borne.
His WWE contract expired in July 2025, and NXT wrote the character off television in an angle that showed his body being placed in the trunk of a car. He has worked a handful of independent dates since and has released country music.
He is the younger brother of Gable Steveson, the Olympic gold medalist who has worked in WWE and mixed martial arts and pursued an NFL career.
