Drew McIntyre is back in the United States, but there has been no discussion yet of returning him to WWE storylines, according to PWInsider.
McIntyre has been away from WWE television since WrestleMania 42, where he lost an Unsanctioned Match to Jacob Fatu. He has spent the months since on film work, finishing his scenes as Angus MacLeod, brother of Henry Cavill’s Connor MacLeod, in the Highlander reboot, then filming The Last Druid in Spain alongside Russell Crowe.
He is still working for WWE in another capacity. McIntyre has a lead role in WWE’s series of live-action microdramas with ReelShort, announced in July, alongside Joe Hendry and Jacob Fatu. Hendry missed last week’s Raw while filming.
McIntyre won the WWE Championship for a third time earlier this year, holding it for 56 days before dropping it back to Cody Rhodes.
