Dave Meltzer says he has heard the Young Bucks’ current AEW deals described as their last.
Speaking on the post-Raw Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez were talking about how much longer the members of The Elite intend to wrestle.
Aside from Page, I’m not sure how much longer any of them are gonna go, because Matt considered stopping. Matt’s in his 40s, and they’re set. All of them, they’re all set for life. They’ve made a lot of money.
He then raised the contract point, with a caveat.
I’ve heard it discussed that this might be their last contract. You know, people always say that and then there’s so much money thrown at you afterwards to stay, so you always do. But, like I said, we’ll see what happens when the deal’s up.
Meltzer expects Kenny Omega to keep wrestling for as long as he physically can, and Hangman Page to go longest of the group because he is the youngest of them.
Matt Jackson is 41. Nick Jackson is 37. The two founded AEW as executive vice presidents in 2019 and have been with the company since.
They challenge Adam Copeland and Christian Cage for the AEW World Tag Team Championships at All In on Saturday at Wembley Stadium. A win would give them a fourth reign, breaking a tie with FTR for the most in the title’s history. No other team has held the belts more than once.
