Willow Nightingale suffered a real hand injury this week, but is still expected to defend the AEW Women’s World Championship at All In: London, according to Bryan Alvarez.
Mercedes Mone attacked Nightingale backstage during Wednesday’s Dynamite in Glasgow, going after the champion’s hand. Alvarez reported that the injury shown in the angle is genuine.
“Willow’s hand injury is said to be legitimate, but she is expected to be able to work the show this weekend,” Alvarez wrote.
Nightingale defends the title against Mone on Sunday at Wembley Stadium. Barring a late change, the match is expected to go ahead.
Mone earned the shot by winning this year’s Women’s Owen Hart Cup. Nightingale beat TBS Champion Maya World on Collision this past Saturday.
