Jeff Jarrett Says Hot Shotting Is Not Automatically A Criticism

AEW

Jeff Jarrett said the term hot shot gets used as an insult when the decision behind it is usually just a judgement call.

Speaking on My World with Jeff Jarrett, he said his instinct is to treat it case by case.

“If you would have asked me, Jeff, is that a negative or a positive? I would have immediately responded, that’s subjective,” Jarrett said.

He pointed to the concession stand brawl in Memphis as an example of a radical move made out of necessity.

“The territory was on its a–. Lawler and Dundee were obviously over, but there wasn’t a lot going on, and so they needed something radical. Business was down,” Jarrett said. “Old Jerry Jarrett used to tell the story. He’s like, ‘F it, son, do it now. What are you waiting on?'”

Jarrett said the real problem comes when the same move is used repeatedly.

“If you hot shot back to back to back, then you really are going to go through a tough time of having patience and pulling out of that, because your audience voted on it, that we didn’t buy hot shot one and we didn’t buy hot shot two, and maybe if you try it a third time, you got a lot more problems than you realize. You got to really start building that heel foundation,” he said.

“For the most part, it happens in business. Hey man, things aren’t going great. We need to do something now.”
