AEW star Swerve Strickland took some time to visit with another group of top athletes in Jacksonville this week, as he attended the training camp for the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars. The former AEW World Champion shared photos from his visit on social media, showing him alongside some of the team’s biggest stars.
Swerve Strickland Mingles with “Franchise Players”
In a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Swerve Strickland shared several photos from his time at the Jaguars’ training facility. The images show him posing with the team’s franchise quarterback, Trevor Lawrence, as well as the multi-talented two-way star from the University of Colorado, Travis Hunter Jr., who was also visiting the camp. In his caption, Swerve showed his respect for the football stars, calling them “FRANCHISE PLAYERS!!!”

The visit continues the strong relationship between All Elite Wrestling and the Jacksonville Jaguars, as both entities are owned by Shahid Khan and his son, AEW President Tony Khan.
A History of Crossover
This is far from the first time that the worlds of AEW and the Jacksonville Jaguars have collided. Over the years, there have been numerous crossover moments between the two organizations. AEW has held several major events, including their Stadium Stampede matches, at the Jaguars’ home, EverBank Stadium. Jaguars players have often been seen in the crowd at AEW shows in Jacksonville, and there have even been on-screen interactions. One of the most memorable moments came in 2021 when former Jaguars coach Urban Meyer and quarterback Trevor Lawrence were involved in a segment with Chris Jericho on an episode of Dynamite. Swerve’s visit to the training camp is the latest example of this unique corporate synergy, as he represents the wrestling brand while showing support for his owner’s football team.
Swerve’s Focus Returns to the Ring
While he may be enjoying some time on the gridiron, Swerve Strickland’s focus will soon return to the squared circle as he prepares for one of the biggest matches of his career. Later this month, on August 24, Swerve is scheduled to challenge “The Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada for the AEW Unified World Championship in the main event of the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view in London, England. The match is a massive opportunity for Swerve to reclaim the top prize in AEW on a global stage. His recent visit with other “franchise players” like Trevor Lawrence serves as a reminder of his own status as one of the franchise cornerstones of All Elite Wrestling.
As Swerve Strickland prepares for his huge main event match at Forbidden Door, his visit to the Jaguars training camp is a cool crossover moment that highlights the unique and interconnected world of the Khan family’s sports empire.
