The card for the upcoming TNA Emergence TNA Plus special is now loaded with championship gold, as five new matches, including four title bouts, have been added to the show. The new additions were announced by Director of Authority Santino Marella on this week’s episode of TNA Impact, filling out the lineup for the event on Friday, August 15, in Baltimore.
TNA Emergence to Feature Four Championship Matches
The TNA Tag Team titles will now be on the line in Baltimore, as the reigning champions, Matt and Jeff Hardy, are set to defend their titles against two members of The Rascalz, Zachary Wentz and Myron Reed. The challengers will be looking to score the biggest victory of their careers by dethroning the legendary champions.
The Knockouts Tag Team Championships will also be defended in a chaotic fatal four-way match. The champions, Heather by Elegance and M by Elegance, will have to defend their titles against three other teams: the reunited IInspiration (Jessica McKay & Cassie Lee), Lei Ying Lee & Xia Brookside, and the team of Fallon Henley & Jazmyn Nyx.
The TNA International Championship will also be defended in a highly anticipated rematch. After their title match on this week’s Impact ended in a double countout, the champion, Steve Maclin, will once again face the powerhouse challenger, Jake Something. This time, however, the match will be contested under No Countout, No Disqualification rules to ensure there is a definitive winner.
A Retirement on the Line?
As teased on last week’s show, a deeply personal grudge match between Mike Santana and Sami Callihan is now official for Emergence. The match comes with a massive, self-imposed stipulation from Callihan, who stated in a recent promo that if he cannot defeat Santana, he may retire from professional wrestling. This high-stakes condition adds a layer of career-threatening drama to their one-on-one encounter. Rounding out the new additions, Ryan Nemeth is scheduled to face The Home Town Man (Cody Deaner) in singles action.
A Stacked Card in Baltimore
These five new matches join the two previously announced main events, making for a loaded night of action for the TNA Plus special. In the main event of the evening, Trick Williams will defend the TNA World Championship against Moose. Also, in a battle for the X-Division Championship, the high-flying champion, Leon Slater, will defend his title against the veteran, Cedric Alexander. With a total of seven matches now announced, including every major TNA championship being defended, Emergence is shaping up to be a pivotal and can’t-miss event for the promotion.
