MVP has revealed the reason for his absence from the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view in London, and he has placed the blame squarely on Ricochet. During this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, MVP interfered in a Trios Championship match, costing Ricochet and The Gates of Agony their opportunity at the titles. In a backstage promo released after the show, he explained his actions.
“Ricochet, think you’re real slick, don’t you? Yeah, my lawyer told me. We it was you that sent that document to the UK immigration department, said you felt ‘threatened’ by me being a convicted felon and to block my work visa so that I couldn’t be at Forbidden Door. Coward, but I’ll give you credit for cunning. Now you’ve got five hundred pounds of beef behind you and your nuts drop. Magnificent. What you succeeded in doing is putting yourself in an unwinnable situation because this is the standard of excellence.”
The promo officially ignited a feud between The Hurt Syndicate and the new alliance of Ricochet and The Gates of Agony. MVP concluded the promo with a direct threat.
“This is the almighty Bobby Lashley. We coming, and we coming to crash through them gates and introduce you to some real agony because we are The Hurt Syndicate, and we hurt people!”
At Forbidden Door, The Gates of Agony, disguised in NJPW tracksuits, attacked The Hurt Syndicate during their AEW World Tag Team Championship match, ultimately costing them the championships.
