The United Wrestling Network is expanding its reach into the Northeast with a new brand, Gotham Wrestling. A new report from PWInsider has revealed the first set of talent scheduled to appear at the brand’s debut television taping on Thursday, October 16, in Nyack, New York.
The initial lineup features a mix of nationally recognized stars and established champions from the UWN system, signaling the promotion’s intent to make a significant impact in the competitive New York wrestling scene. This move marks a major step for the United Wrestling Network, which operates as a collection of affiliated promotions, as they look to establish a new weekly television product.
Among the notable names announced for the taping is current AEW and ROH star Jay Lethal, a multi-time former World and Television Champion in Ring of Honor. He will be joined by Karl Fredericks, a former NJPW Young Lion who also had a recent run in WWE’s NXT brand. The event will also feature the top champions from the United Wrestling Network, including the reigning UWN Women’s Champion Big Mama and the UWN Tag Team Champions, The Wolf Zaddies. Rounding out the initial announcement are independent standouts VSK and Brett Ryan Gosselin. According to the report, the United Wrestling Network is currently in discussions with local television networks in the Northeast to secure a broadcast partner for the planned weekly series.
