The viewership numbers are in for the Saturday, September 6 episode of AEW Collision, and the show saw a significant rebound from the previous week’s low numbers. According to Wrestlenomics, the live broadcast from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia averaged 300,000 viewers on TNT. This represents a substantial 54% increase from the 195,000 viewers the show drew on August 30. That episode had faced heavy competition from college football, the UFC, and AAA’s Triplemania event. The return to a more normal level of viewership is a positive sign for the Saturday night program.
The show also saw a strong increase in the key 18-49 demographic. Collision drew an average 0.07 rating, which is a 75% rise from the previous week’s 0.04 rating. The show finished sixth for the night in original cable programming for the key demographic, a significant improvement from the previous week’s ranking. The September 6th episode was a loaded show, featuring a main event of Jon Moxley vs. Daniel Garcia and a major eight-woman tag team match, which likely contributed to the audience’s return. The final taping of AEW’s current residency in the 2300 Arena will take place this week, with the episode scheduled to air on Saturday, September 13.
