A new report from Fightful Select has revealed that there have been discussions within All Elite Wrestling about potentially expanding the ranks of The Hurt Syndicate faction. The group, which currently consists of the veteran trio of Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, and MVP, has been a dominant force in the company, but the new report suggests that there is a desire to add new, younger members to the stable. This move would not only add depth to the group but could also serve as a major platform to elevate rising stars by aligning them with three of the most respected and accomplished veterans in the industry. The potential expansion of the group opens up a host of new storyline possibilities for the fall and beyond.
While fans on social media have often speculated about the possibility of Cedric Alexander, who was a member of the original Hurt Business faction in WWE, joining the group in AEW, the Fightful report notes that his name has not been heard in these recent discussions. Alexander is currently working with TNA Wrestling, and his contract status with that promotion is unknown. The report also adds that there has been talk of bringing in entirely new signings to be the new members of the group. Additionally, the report shoots down any rumors of MVP potentially leaving the company, stating that all three current members of The Hurt Syndicate are signed to multi-year contracts with AEW. The group is scheduled to be in action this Saturday at the All Out pay-per-view, where they will face the trio of Ricochet and The Gates of Agony.
