John Cena has announced a special theme for the upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13 in Washington, D.C.. During the opening segment of the November 10 episode of Monday Night Raw, Cena revealed that the special event will feature main roster stars issuing open challenges to the talent of NXT.
Cena explained that the show will highlight the future of WWE by giving NXT stars the same opportunity he received when he famously debuted in 2002 by answering an open challenge from Kurt Angle.
The December 13 event is also the show where Cena will compete in his final retirement match. His opponent for that main event is currently being determined in the “Last Time Is Now” tournament. Saturday Night’s Main Event will air live on Peacock.
