Jim Ross To Return To Commentary On January 7 Dynamite

Jim Ross
AEW

Good old JR is coming home.

AEW has announced that legendary commentator Jim Ross will return to the broadcast booth for the January 7, 2026, episode of Dynamite in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Ross, who has battled various health issues over the past few years, has not called a match since Forbidden Door in August.

The 73-year-old recently relocated back to Oklahoma and signed a new one-year contract with AEW, expressing his desire to continue calling key main event matches. His return coincides with a massive card featuring a “Lights Out” tag match between Swerve Strickland & Hangman Page vs. The Opps, as well as Jon Moxley vs. Shelton Benjamin.
