Real Reason Kazuchika Okada’s Title Was Covered on Collision

AEW

Fans noticed something unusual during Kazuchika Okada’s AEW International Title defense on Collision: the champion’s belt was covered, and he was wearing different gear. Fightful Select reports that the reason was logistical rather than creative—the bag containing Okada’s gear and the championship belt was lost in transit.

To cover for the mishap, commentary improvised a storyline explanation. Rocky Romero stated that challenger Adam Priest “wasn’t on the same level” as Okada and didn’t deserve to see the title or the champion’s robe. Okada retained the title with a Rainmaker in a competitive match. This comes amidst Okada’s ongoing storyline of playing mind games with the Don Callis Family, specifically trying to drive a wedge between Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher.
