The lineup for AEW Revolution continues to expand with the addition of two highly anticipated championship matches. All Elite Wrestling CEO Tony Khan has officially confirmed the new bouts, raising the stakes for the upcoming March 15th premium live event.
Two-Out-Of-Three Falls and Trios Titles Added
The AEW Women’s World Championship picture has been incredibly volatile recently. A few weeks ago, Thekla shocked the audience by defeating Kris Statlander in a brutal Strap match to capture the gold. She subsequently defended the title successfully against a returning Thunder Rosa. The animosity reached a boiling point during the March 4 episode of Dynamite, when Statlander intervened to prevent the Triangle of Madness (Thekla, Julia Hart, and Skye Blue) from executing a post-match beatdown on Rosa. Following the confrontation, Tony Khan announced that Thekla will defend her championship in a grueling two-out-of-three falls match against Statlander at Revolution, guaranteeing a definitive conclusion to their rivalry.
The AEW World Trios Championships will also be on the line in Los Angeles. During the main event of Wednesday’s Dynamite, the formidable alliance of Kazuchika Okada, Kyle Fletcher, and Mark Davis captured the Trios titles by defeating “Hangman” Adam Page, Kevin Knight, and Mike Bailey. With Page currently preparing for a massive career-threatening Texas Death Match against AEW World Champion MJF, the new champions will defend their newly won Trios titles against the team of Knight, Bailey, and the legendary luchador Mistico.
These additions bolster an already stacked card. Revolution will feature FTR defending the Tag Team titles against The Young Bucks, Jon Moxley facing Konosuke Takeshita in a no-time-limit match for the Continental Championship, and highly anticipated singles bouts between Bandido and Andrade El Idolo, as well as Brody King taking on Swerve Strickland.
