One of the most dynamic performers in professional wrestling is officially on the comeback trail. According to a new report from Fightful Select, former AEW International Champion Will Ospreay is making significant strides in his recovery from a serious neck injury. Sources indicate that Ospreay has begun working out in the ring prior to AEW television events, and the early signs suggest he is returning to the elite level of competition he displayed before being sidelined.
Targeting a Major Return for the Summer Stadium Season
The timeline for Ospreay’s return appears to be centering on a potential spring arrival. The internal hope within All Elite Wrestling is that the 32-year-old superstar will be fully cleared and integrated back into storylines in time for this summer’s AEW All In event at Wembley Stadium in London. Ospreay’s road to recovery began last September when he underwent surgery to address two herniated discs. The injury followed a grueling encounter at Forbidden Door in August, where he was eventually written off television following a post-match assault.
Progress has been steady throughout the early months of 2026. In late January, Ospreay was reportedly backstage at Dynamite to undergo a formal medical evaluation. Shortly thereafter, AEW began airing vignettes hyping his eventual return, prompted by Tony Khan’s assertion that the recovery was going “very, very well.” With the “Aerial Assassin” now back in the ring for training sessions, the AEW locker room and the global fanbase are eagerly awaiting the return of a man who consistently defines the standard of modern professional wrestling.
