Adam Copeland and Christian Cage are back in AEW — and they’ve immediately made FTR their target. The duo returned at Revolution in dramatic fashion following the opening World Tag Team Championship match, sending a clear message about where they plan to go next.
FTR opened the pay-per-view by successfully defending the AEW World Tag Team Championships against The Young Bucks in a hard-fought match that ended with an Avalanche Shatter Machine on Matt Jackson. The bout featured multiple near-falls from both sides before FTR emerged victorious.
Cage and Copeland Leave FTR Laying, Vow to Take the Tag Titles
The celebration was short-lived. Christian Cage’s theme music hit, distracting Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood long enough for Cage to sneak up behind them. Cage deployed a spray on Wheeler, hit Dax with the Kill Switch, and Copeland followed up immediately with a spear on Harwood. Even Stokely, FTR’s manager, couldn’t escape — he extended a hand to Cage and received a Kill Switch for his trouble.
