The Best of the Super Juniors 2026 field is complete following NJPW’s Sakura Genesis event on Saturday, with the final two participants confirmed as Nick Wayne of AEW and Jun Kasai of FREEDOMS. Wayne — the current ROH Television Champion — returns for his second tournament after making his debut last year, having recently come back from a foot injury that kept him sidelined for several months. Kasai gained significant attention in 2025 following a high-profile deathmatch against El Desperado.
The 20-man tournament is split into two ten-man blocks. Block A features DOUKI, Francesco Akira, Robbie X, Nick Wayne, Titan, Valiente Jr., Kosei Fujita, Jun Kasai, Ryusuke Taguchi, and Master Wato. Block B features El Desperado, YOH, Daisuke Sasaki, KUSHIDA, Robbie Eagles, Jakob Austin Young, Taiji Ishimori, Hyo, SHO, and Yoshinobu Kanemaru.
NJPW Best of the Super Juniors 2026 Runs from May 14 at Korakuen Hall Through June 7 in Ota
The tournament begins May 14 at the legendary Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and concludes June 7 in Ota, giving the field of 20 competitors several weeks of round-robin competition across both blocks before the finals determine the winner. Wayne’s inclusion continues AEW‘s cross-promotional relationship with NJPW, which has produced compelling crossover appearances from multiple talents across both promotions in recent years.
