Cedric Alexander defeated Leon Slater in a best-of-three-falls match on the May 14 episode of TNA iMPACT! on AMC to win the X Division Championship. Slater’s reign ended before he could become the longest-reigning X Division champion in TNA history.
During the main event, commentary announced that an Ultimate X match for the X Division Championship will take place at TNA Slammiversary 2026, set for June 28 at Agganis Arena in Boston, Massachusetts. Participants have not been announced.
The Ultimate X is one of TNA’s signature match types. Two cables cross 15 feet above the ring, connected to metal structures at each corner, with the championship suspended at the center. The first wrestler to retrieve it wins. The most recent Ultimate X took place at TNA Rebellion 2025, where Moose defended the title against KC Navarro, Leon Slater, Matt Cardona, El Hijo del Vikingo, and Sidney Akeem.
