FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) are approaching the option year of the four-year deal they signed with AEW in 2023, per Bodyslam.net. The report states FTR believe their value and consistency over the past several years should place them among AEW’s highest-paid talent.
“There has also reportedly been at least preliminary interest from WWE communicated through mutual contacts as the situation continues to draw attention internally,” the report said, while noting there is no sign a departure is imminent.
FTR dropped the AEW World Tag Team Championships to Adam Copeland and Christian Cage at Double or Nothing on Sunday. They are three-time AEW tag champions. Cash Wheeler said in 2023 that he and Harwood would likely be done as full-time performers when this deal expired, though it is not known whether that remains their plan.
WWE has been internally focused on rebuilding its tag team division, though primarily through in-house development following recent departures including The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) and Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin).
