On the latest episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, Matt Hardy reflected on how Dark Side of the Ring covered the Victory Road 2011 incident, recalling his own memory of that night and praising his brother’s ownership of it. You can check out his comments below:
“Obviously that’s something you could go into great detail about, but considering they did it very quickly, I thought it was done pretty well. It was very accurate, because I do remember that day. I was there. I wrestled AJ Styles on that show, and we had a hell of a match, by the way — just want to throw that out there. I remember being so happy, like, oh yeah, it went good, it was such a blast. I’ve gotten to work with AJ a couple of times, and I was doing a thing with Flair or whatever. I’ll never forget, before that, people were asking me, because I was about three matches before the main event, hey, have you seen your brother? I said, no, I haven’t recently. And people were looking for him, and I was like, uh-oh.”
“The best thing about Jeff is he’s just super accountable about it. He’s just like, yeah, I messed up, and this is why I messed up, and I learned a lot from it. He said right there, and this is true, he said, I knew after that moment I would never take another pill again. And he has held true to his word on that.”
