Mick Foley says his awkward backstage segment at Redemption came down to a slight misunderstanding. During Sunday’s pay-per-view, Foley interviewed AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions Megan Bayne and Lena Kross, and when the two told him to bow down, he responded by barking like a dog.
After the moment drew a lot of discussion online, Foley shared a clip on Instagram with an explanation.
“A SLIGHT MISUNDERSTANDING! DivineDominion told me to Bow DOWN, not BOW WOW! My bad @themeganbayne @lena_kross – my new favorite tag team! @aew”
The segment set up The Brawling Birds, Alex Windsor and Jamie Hayter, as future challengers, with Foley noting the champions have yet to beat the pair.
Foley is expected to be a more regular presence in AEW going forward, though not every week. The 61-year-old was in Montreal working Redemption in a broadcasting role and posted afterward to congratulate Willow Nightingale on winning the AEW Women’s World Title.
