On the latest episode of My World, Jeff Jarrett reacted to footage of AJ Styles’ son, Avery, who is a month into his in-ring career in GCW. You can check out his comments below:
On how much Avery has absorbed from watching his father:
“Watched his dad his entire life, and there is something I always call it osmosis, that you being around it and watching it and being a part of it. There’s genetics involved, but there’s also time. When you watch something on TV, you’re mentally rehearsing it, whether consciously or subconsciously. So I don’t know how much training he’s got into it, but the amount of times he’s seen his father do that through the years is not in the hundreds, it’s in the thousands, I’m sure.”
On the resemblance to his dad’s offense:
“I still call it a back handspring slop drop. That was a staple that AJ would do, and he looks like a young AJ.”
On what he hopes Avery does for his longevity:
“I hope Avery either stays or gets in the gym and really gets himself in as good a shape as possible. Not only for presentation and look, but also for longevity and safety, because it’s hard on the body. One of the things I admired, AJ always stayed in shape, and it goes a long way in the longevity of your career. So the young man is following in the old man’s footsteps.”
