On the latest episode of 83 Weeks, Eric Bischoff reacted to Brock Rechsteiner’s six-game NFL suspension and the report that WWE would almost certainly sign Scott Steiner’s son whenever his football career ends. You can check out his comments below:
On the suspension:
“I can’t really comment on the suspension. I feel bad for Brock, because it’s such a great opportunity. You’ve got to kind of think, you’re trying to make the roster, you’re a rookie, and before you even make the team you’re suspended for six games. Something suggests to me, without knowing anything at all about earning a spot on an NFL team, that these cards are probably stacked against you. I feel bad for a young man who got as far as he has and knows that it’s unlikely he’s going to make the team, in no small part due to something like this.”
On Bron Breakker’s stalled push:
“That being said, I’m with you, man. I’m so disappointed that we haven’t seen more Bron. I said it when it happened — I think the injury prior to WrestleMania really turned a lot of creative plans upside down. I firmly believe that. I thought Bron was getting ready for the focus, the push. Injury, whatever.”
On pairing the cousins:
“But now with his cousin coming in, and a chance to really — hopefully they lean into the Steiner brothers brand a little bit and lose the gimmick names and pay homage to two of the best tag team wrestlers in the history of the sport, in my opinion. They’re great. Scott was unique. Rick was amazing. These guys were great. I really enjoyed watching them work. For the most part, I enjoyed working with Rick more than Scott. So yeah, if there’s a version 2.0 of the Steiner brothers, I’ll be first in line for a ticket.”
