AEW Expected To Do More Thursday Collision Tapings

A combination of saving money on travel costs and talent liking to be less on the road means AEW is expected to do more Thursday Collision tapings rather than air live on Saturdays.

Dave Meltzer reported the following in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter

“I expect more Thursday Collision tapings going forward. The main talent likes it because if they are on the road on Wednesday, it’s far easier to stay for a second day of taping rather than either stay on the road two days and come back Friday night or Saturday, or go home on Thursday and come back Friday night or Saturday morning. It does hurt the rating somewhat not going live. This is actually the first year with Smackdown and Collision where I’ve seen a difference, not huge, but noticeable, between ratings of taped and live shows. But from an AEW perspective the difference isn’t enough to where the plan is to try and go live every week and sacrificing the travel load and the goodwill of the talent.”
